This introductory course is carefully curated for both technical and non-technical audiences and explores the key features of blockchain technologies and the differentiators between the various Hyperledger projects. Alexandra Groetsema
DLT Education Operations and Instructor. CTO at Bitbutter. Previously attended Blockchain University as a Women in Tech Diversity scholar. Alexandra received her BA from UC Berkeley.

Arianna Groetsema
Background in computer science from web development to security. She is a Women in Tech Diversity scholar and collaborator with Blockchain University. Arianna was one of the winners in Blockchain University’s 2015 Hackathon.

Nathalie Salami
Blockchain Instructor, Course Material Development, and California Attorney with fintech regulation expertise. Nathalie is co-founder and Chief Legal Officer of HitFin which provides settlement services for over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives.

Lillian Chan
Lillian is an entrepreneur with skills in video production, coding, business management and construction engineering. Her background includes roles as Associate Producer for ABC Television, Executive Video Producer for and graduate of Blockchain University, and blockchain startup founder.

Navroop Sahdev
Economist by training, Navroop is currently building a FinTech company. Her research interests are focused on DLT Technologies, Networks Theory and Complex Systems Science. Previously she has worked at Harvard University, UN Environment Programme and University of the Fraser Valley. Research Associate at the Centre d’économie de l’Université Paris Nord (CEPN), she holds three Masters from University of Paris XIII, University of Turin and Panjab University.

Dr. Jeff Flowers
Senior Blockchain Instructor. He led Curriculum & Instructional Design at Blockchain University. Currently he is Professor of Chemistry at College of San Mateo. Jeff holds an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University.

Ryan X. Charles
A bitcoin engineer who has implemented the bitcoin protocol and many bitcoin standards in javascript, including payment protocol and stealth addresses. Previously he was at BitGo where he worked on the multisig bitcoin security platform, and also at BitPay where he authored the Bitcore library.

Jonathan Levi
The founder of the Blockchain Start-up HACERA (hacera.com), who designed the Membership Services and the permissioning layer of Hyperledger Fabric, with his company who partnered who co-managed the release of Hyperledger Fabric 1.0. Jonathan helped and reviewed the material of this class. He is an applied cryptographer who lead front-trading desk teams in Goldman Sachs, Barclays Capital and worked on low-level security software for Cisco Systems.

Anish Mohammed
Security and cryptography researcher and consultant for the past 15 years. He has spent half his career researching cryptographic algorithms and protocols. He is on the advisory board for Adjoint, Arteia, Privacy Shell, Ripple Labs and Chain of Things. Currently focused on projects that involve security vs scalability vs consensus of Blockchain and using smart contracts for AI safety.

Makoto Takemiya
Co-Founder and CEO of Soramitsu Company based in Tokyo, Japan. Soramitsu has open sourced Iroha which is now part of Hyperledger. He was born in California and is now a Japanese citizen. Makoto is one of Iroha’s core developers, and travels globally to evangelize Hyperledger and Iroha.

Steven Zeiler
Software architect who helped build and evangelize Ripple and Interledger. He’s contriubuted to and built numerous DLT projects including blockchain account monitors, p2p network daemons, validator registries, vault clients, smart oracle hosts & command line interfaces.
